Advanced Jewelry Casting
In this class, we introduce; wax pens, additional wax tools, carving, detailing, finishing and manipulation techniques, mini lathe, mold making and vacuum casting. Organic material may also be cast as well as incorporated in wax models. Students also have the opportunity to be more involved with the casting process to prepare them to cast without assistance.
This 4 week class may also be taken multiple times, as there are several options in which to focus. The class is structured to give individual attention to each student on the specific techniques for their projects. Each individual session allows other students the opportunity to observe and learn as well. There are no limits to the number of projects each student may do in each 4 week period (multiple projects will most likely involve additional hours outside of class), so long as work is invested 2.5 hours before the kiln is loaded for casting day.
